Emergency Registrar Positions

The Alfred & Sandringham Hospital

Applications close 18th September 2016

Alfred Health runs the premier training program in Emergency Medicine at The Alfred and Sandringham Hospital. Trainees benefit immensely from the opportunity to rotate across both sites and gain experience in these diverse clinical and academic environments.

From previous trainees:

Alfred Health fosters a community which I truly value being a part of. Senior colleagues demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and maintain a strong sense of cohesion and community. Most importantly, emergency staff are incredibly motivating and interested in helping trainees aspire to reach their goals within emergency medicine training and wider areas of health.

Experience how ‘whole of hospital’ reform can improve patient flow and patient care. Near seamless ED-ICU care with timelines, support and exposure to interventions such as ECMO-CPR. Trainees are at the cutting edge of resuscitation and not just standing to one side. You have the opportunity to work and learn from experts in their fields, from trauma to evidence based medicine and research or point of care ultrasound.
— Registrar 2015
The Alfred is situated within a strong research and education precinct with unparalleled research and educational opportunities. As trainees, we are encouraged to become involved in academic pursuits. Personally, it has been a great privilege to be part of some of the Alfred global health programs and conferences, such as traveling to Shenzhen, China and presenting at the International Emergency Care symposium.
